For the safety of all dogs in our care, a complete and current vaccination record must accompany every dog, including protection against kennel cough. This policy is strictly enforced to protect the health of every dog staying at the kennel.

Pineridge Grouse Camp offers professional dog boarding near Longville, Minnesota, serving hunters and dog owners in Longville, Remer, Boy River, Outing, Walker, and Grand Rapids.

Our kennel is designed with working dogs in mind. Even in the middle of a Minnesota winter, the heated kennel buildings are kept at 60 degrees for a comfortable stay. Each dog has 52 square feet of combined indoor and outdoor space, along with access to a large fenced exercise area where they can run and stay active.

Cleanliness and health are a top priority. Kennels are cleaned daily with a power washer and an anti-bacterial solution designed specifically for kennel environments. Dogs are fed Eukanuba Performance 30/20 formula, though you’re welcome to bring your dog’s preferred food during their stay.

Dog boarding: $25 per day
Pick-up and return: $25 one way within 30 miles

Gun dog training programs

Pineridge Grouse Camp also offers professional gun dog training programs designed to develop reliable hunting companions. Dogs are worked regularly in real cover and exposed to birds throughout training to build confidence and strong hunting instincts.

Puppy training
_{(4–7 months)}

This one-month puppy training program focuses on early structure and obedience while introducing young dogs to birds.

Training includes:

– Crate training
– Stakeout and chain gang work
– “Here” and “Whoa” commands
– Daily runs with birds, 5–6 days per week
– Individual attention throughout the program

Hunting dog training
_{(7 months and older)}

This program typically runs 6 weeks to 3 months, depending on the dog’s maturity and progress. The goal is to develop a dependable hunting dog capable of working effectively in the field.

Training includes:

– Holding point on birds until flushed
– Advanced “Whoa” training
– Handling drills and directional control
– Whistle training
– E-collar conditioning
– Backing (honoring another dog’s point)
– Reliable retrieving
– Exposure to multiple types of hunting cover

Finished gun dog training

This 2–6 week finishing program builds on previous training and develops complete steadiness in the field. Dogs will learn to remain steady through flush, shot, and fall, holding position until released for the retrieve.

Fall “Tune-Up”

Before the start of grouse and woodcock season, Pineridge Grouse Camp offers a limited fall tune-up program. This allows your dog to get back into hunting condition and see birds before the season begins.
